I love the many possible connections/theoriesΒ of W.D Gaster and the skeleton brothers. One of my favorites are the brothers being Gaster's children.Βreblog here

my theory is that when gaster was shattered he shatteredΒ into the two brothers, Sans and Papyrus, Papyrus being the right side of the brain, Sans the left

but also sans alweadyΒ existed as gasters son and gasters left side brain was absorbed into him, but papyrus was formed from gasters right side brain

basically the idea is that Gaster as we know him (mysteryman.spr) is "technically" the skelebros parents.

TDLR, determination experiment went wrong, Gaster is an amalgamate of the skelebros mom and dad. i like this idea since while Dadster is a popular idea,Β THIS one atleast somewhat explains the lack of a mom which seems to get overlooked often

If you ever read into the Handplates AU series, they most definitely were created by him. But the consequences of Gasters actions means that I can't ever imagine Sans being this trusting around Gaster, especially with Papyrus.
It is a nice piece of art, just given the time I've spent reading the Handplates comics, I can't quite manage to imagine this.

It is sad, most definitely. But I prefer to think of it as a triumph.
In the end, the two have little to no memory of the pain they suffered. Gaster is not only spread through time and space painfully thin, like a tiny patch of butter on too much bread, he is forgotten. All of his work comes to nothing or is given to other people, something the egotistical skeleton would hate. Everything he worked for is undone, his sacrifices are for nothing, and the brothers go on to live happily.Β
She/He still updates the comic. I hope that someday, I get to see Gaster reap what he sowed.Β
(Out of curiosity, does Gaster canonically have holes in his hands? I see it a lot in artwork.)

The hand holes are canon. The one time you actually see gaster's sprite, in the grey room, he has holes in his hands.
