Born to a couple that married young in Harthaven, Candace had always been a happy child, even though she was aware of the cracks slowly forming over time in her family unit. She needed to keep a smile on her face so her parents would stay since all she ever wanted was their presence.

Candace’s parents eventually divorced, her father leaving them for his affair partner, never to be seen again. This is where her nomadic lifestyle began, leaving Harthaven behind, as it was hard for her mother to maintain a steady enough job to pay for rent and food. Candace did her best to maintain a cheery facade, afraid that if her mask ever fell the people around her would abandon her.

This would cause her to form unhealthy attachments toward anyone, including those that would take advantage of her. Still, she beamed and sang, music being her preferred artistic outlet. As a teen she was discovered by a music mogul that assigned himself as her manager and set to transform her into the next pop idol. He turned out to be one of many that would use her for his benefit, sadly in more ways than one. She had been taken advantage of for years until she was found by Theodore.

Theodore had been an old friend from when she had started her young career. Now as adults Theadore noticed Candace was far from the glowing star she once was. In an attempt to help, he convinced her to leave, and restart their lives wherever she chose. She chose the last place she had been truly happy: Harthaven. After some healing she wanted to return to the spotlight, but only if Theodore accepted to be her new manager.
