Thanks so much everyone for 1,000 pageviews in less than one month. I have had an account for a while but then forgot about it and never posted any work. I began uploading my images just over 1 month ago and am pleased to have so many new friends and interests in my artwork.So with out further adue, I present.... DEADPOOL as pretty much... ALL of you requested. I loved doing this one for you guys too. It was fun. I will most likely clean it up with inks and color it in the near future. It is traditional pencil with digital clean ups.
The sweet Ivybeth has graced this piece with her colors and they rock the cock! (Rooster you pervs) Here is the link to her beautiful colors.

I peeked in your gallery. My advice would be (depending on your age ofcourse, I don't know how old you are)... if you are under 18, I would continue to copy from comics and other things that inspire you or things that you like to draw, however, use a different technique other than just the glance and redraw. Keep working on your anatomy and musculature. Not only that but proportions as well. A majority of your faces and body parts seem scrunched together. This is probably due to that fact that you are compying from something and aren't taking into account the geometry that goes into it.
Even if you are copying, plan the page out. NEVER, EVER... go straight to a final piece. Always sketch first. Shape out the character before you start doing the detail. Make sure that the mouth, nose and eyes are in the correct spots before you start putting the pencil down hard on them to finalize it. Sketch pretty much means to lightly rough in the basics of an art. When every thing in the sketch looks satisfactory, then put the details in.

But if you are older than 18 or after you graduate from highschool, I suggest taking up some art courses at a decent college of arts. I knew how to draw before I went to college, and most of the teachers didn't want to help much, but what made me even better than I was was the constant competition that my fellow students and peers gave every day whether in class or just drawing randomly together in the dorm rooms. I would say that college was one of my greatest expriences in life... and even though I am a professional and have my own small business, I would definitely go back for some more education if I had the time.

Also bud, I forgot to mention this. Practice body parts separately too.
Do a page of nothing but eyes. The same goes for noses, mouths, hands, feet... whatever is on the body, break it down so you can pay attention to each individual detail. When you are happy with it by itself, then apply it to a full body.

Say how do you usually work? Sketching and then digital or how? I am very curious! = )

Well it varries babe, first is always the sketchy idea to get the proprtions and dynamic pose I want.
- sketch: digital or blue non-photo pencil
- clean up: digital black with brush or regular pencils over the blue one.
- inks: digital in Illustrator or Photoshop (up to the mood I'm in really) or regular inks with Microns, sharpies, and bald point bics (for ultra thin)
- color: pretty much always digital in photoshop. The Undo button is my best friend cuz I work real fast.
Testimony of speed... I did that Deadpool and the Starscream transformer pics just this morning, between feeding my kids breakfast and lunch and playing with them. Tiring stuff but i gotta get it done! HEHEHE XD

I wish I had time to color DeadPool, that's a great piece, I am so far behind right now, I have a ton of BC artwork to color as well.... I hadn't heard from Rickey on that, I would be glad to, just gotta get bust some of this out.

Oh not yet, but the first half of the pay for that comic Im illustrating came in so I will be working on that and when I'm done i will send you the first 5 pages of 10 total to color. I hope you don't mind making that one of your priorities being that the client needs them by June 15th. You remember us talking about this right? If not, let me know and I will resend the color reference image. It was easy. Solids with 1 cell shade and faint contrasting the line work.
