Самоходное орудие Type 83, созданное специалистами из Китая где-то в первой половине 80х, было весьма неплохо. Фактически, клон советской "Акации" примерно ей по ТТХ и соответствовал. Но вот проблема: если у СССР имелись самоходные орудия классом выше, - то у НОАК более мощных и дальнобойных САУ не было. Проблемы были и с баллистикой - даже стволов, способных закинуть снаряды на требуемые дальности не было, а идти по пути КНДР, выжимая все соки из древних калибров со скорострельностью 1-2 выстрела в минуту, не хотелось. Поэтому взоры конструкторов обратились в сторону 130-мм пушки Type 59 (клон советской М-46, по сути). Давая скорострельность в 8-10 выстрелов в минуту, она неплохо подходила для этой роли, но вот снаряды были мелковаты. Однако, надо было попробовать!

И пушку установили на уже вполне опробованное основание САУ. Получившаяся самоходка выглядела неплохо. Снаряды с донным газогенератором летели на расстояние аж в 34500м, чего с запасом хватало на все поставленные задачи. Но мощность... Мощность снаряда почти вдвое уступала 6" решениям. Поэтому, китайцы ограничились одной экспериментальной машиной - а основные усилия сосредоточили на создании дальнобойной баллистики калибров 152/155мм.

And the cannons were placed on an already well-tested base of SAU. The resulting self-propelled gun looked bad. The shells were flying with pop-up gas generator at a distance as much in the 34500m, what with the stock enough for all tasks. But the power of ... Power of the projectile is almost twice as inferior to 6 "solutions. Therefore, the Chinese have restricted one experimental machine - and the main efforts have focused on creating long-range ballistics calibers 152/155mm.
