EDIT: It was brought to my attention that another knitter has made a similar pattern for the binary scarf. While mine was inspired by the Matrix, the pattern is almost the same. Her's is wider and double sided but the stitch count is extremely similar. Since I don't want to encroach on her design (and don't want people taking mine and making a profit) Binary is going to be put on hold till I can alter my pattern a bit more so it looks less like hers. Sorry to disappoint but having had my designs taken before I don't want to do that to another. I will suspend the making of that one till the alterations are complete. For those of you that maybe want to commission her or make your own-here is the link to her site [link]First scarfs of the New Year. I have more in the works but I'm holding off on them till I have the pattern more figured out. I started out with the binary scarf spelling out anime but then just gave up because I was realizing how much of a nerd I was being. So it reads Animajflkgjsadlkfjdslkajfsklj....bleh.
The peacock feather one was inspired by 's T-shirt design. Please vote for it!

Correct, binary as a language is not copyrighted. However taking it and working it into an art piece that someone else might have done could fall under intellectual property infringement. I deal with copy rights for a living so the person above was just watching out for the other artist. Since I've had my stuff stolen before and used without permission I know where they are coming from and the feeling of violation that goes along with it. Since mine were not double sided, didn't spell out the same stuff, and did not include tassels then it wasn't a 'copy right' issue. Better to be sure though and not be sued. *^_^*

Hi there. I really like the scarves, especially the peacock one, but you might want to be careful about selling the Binary one, because Knitty has a very similar one [link]
I'm sure you designed it on your own, but there could be some legal gray areas there.

Woah her's is very nice. And double sided O.O! And no it doesn't come off as bitchy at all. I know you had the best interests at heart. I thought it was my own idea but seems other people were already doing it. Never fun to show up to the party late >.

Oh good. I'm glad I didn't come across as bitchy, and frankly, the knitting community is so nice I find it hard to believe anyone would "come after you" or anything.

I will be making more but I don't know if I'm going to Banzai. I hope to but with the new location and my traveling partner not going it's going to be tight budget wise. You can always order one on line which is why I post them here too. Then you can wear it to the con and be like "oh yeah who's got mad matrix moves" lol

probably 20 for the binary since it's a 17 dollar two color design but through the full thing so it takes more time. The feather one I'm not sure. I did it more for fun.
