I'm sorry, but to label Lucy as "Evil" that's just not fair.

How so? Lucy is a psychotic mass murderer bent on the erradication of mankind who also tortured members of her own kind for shit and giggles. Sympathetic as she may be, at that point in time, she IS very evil.

The original personality, Kaede, on the other hand would be Chaotic Neutral, while Nyuu is either True Neutral (in her childish mindset) or Neutral Good (as she matures).

Have you ever actually SEEN Elfen Lied. It sounds to me as though you may have just read about it or heard about it. In any case, I don't necessarily think having serious mental problems makes someone "evil".

I've seen the anime AND read the Manga. Kaede HAS serious mental problems, but that doesn't take away Lucy's sadism as she brutally murders and tortures those around her.

Maybe you think this way for only watching the Anime. I suggest you read the Manga, Lucy is FAR more sadistic and cruel in that one.

I have indeed read the manga, and so I think you make a valid argument. One serious problem I have with the manga is that Lucy seemed way too invincible. What do you think?

That depends honestly. Early on she DOES trounce Nana and Bando, but on the Mariko fight, she is unable to hurt her until she manages to seize the control device for her bombs, after which she proceeds to brutally torture her as Kurama watches. Then we have her second fight with Bando, where unlike the Anime, it's LUCY who gets her ass kicked... at least untiul Mayu interferes on behalf of "Nyuu" (After which Lucy tries to KILL her... so yeah, you see why I said what I said before).

Then, we have the end of the Manga. It's then when she ramps her vector's strenght to DBZ levels. However, this comes as a destrimental cost to her body and ends up falling apart (literally), the rest is something you must read yourself.

Well, it's mainly the "Lucy" person as Chaotic Evil. And this is when Lucy is simply the killing machine before she softens a bit up.
