Ok, I love the human/elephant scale. I bet that Knight has soiled himself. It's a really cool image.

Y'know, in some medieval bestiaries the elephant is symbolic of Christ. Β So if you wanted to claim symbolism here, you easily could!

No problem at all! Β I suggest checking out some medieval bestiaries. Β They tell you a lot about history and culture!

"Mr. dragon? Fuck off."

I was wandering if you could let me us this image for an Android game called "Kingdoms of Myth", it's turn based strategy game based on a fantasy World. You can find a little bit more info in this rough website made by my colleges [link] (Sorry for the bad English). Of course you will have full credits of your work and link to your webpage if you want

Lot of thanks for your time

I don't get it. The elephant has both Christian and Muslim markings?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

RelativeEquinox In reply to madmadman01 [2013-02-16 16:07:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, in reality, despite their demonization, the Templars were pretty tolerant towards Muslims, traded with them, and sometimes even allied with them. So. Yeah.

Not that the Templars ever got their hands on elephants...but...yeah.

AfroMatrix007 In reply to RelativeEquinox [2013-08-19 00:09:22 +0000 UTC]

Allied with them? Wow I thought they were sworn enemies, definitely something for me to look into in further detail.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RelativeEquinox In reply to AfroMatrix007 [2013-08-19 00:52:12 +0000 UTC]

It was more the reverse really. Some of the Muslim 'Emirs' (essentially 'Counts' or 'Lords' in European equivalents) disagreed with the various other Saracens (for example, the schism between Shia and Sunni Islam had already happened) and decided to side with the Crusaders.Β

In one famously misunderstood case are the Hashashin, whom I'm sure you know about. They were on the opposite side of Islam as the main Saracens were (forget which were which at the moment) and as such they fought against and with both sides.Β

How comes that the elephant looks rough and detailed at the same time?

Madspeitersen In reply to API-Beast [2012-07-16 12:42:27 +0000 UTC]

Thnk you very much Thats a really good question. Its because its a mixture of PhotoManipulation and painting. Its all about finding the right material and photoshop it so that the balance is right And sometimes i just like to make something that has a strong contrast. That being anything from dark/light to detailed/rough thnx again
