String O' Fate: A red string that is usually wrapped around her neck. It can change lengths at will, and can go from dull and soft to razor-sharp in her hands at a moments notice. Thanks to a handy spell, it can also paralyze any living thing that touches it, depending on Val's command.

Bag O' Tricks: A red bag that she carries around with her. It's durable, light, and is bigger on the inside then out, which makes it easier to carry around her collection and, say, bodies. It could also knock a person or thing out if whacked hard enough.

Jingle Bell: The bell at the base of her pony-tail is actually a part of her head. It only jingles when someone or something tries to sneak up on her.

Agility: Very nimble, flexible, and fast.

Night vision: Absolutely no problem seeing in the dark.

Val is a very easy going person. She has a positive outlook on life, and enjoys to be around people. Although she's not much of a talker (in fact, she talks so little sometimes people think she's mute), when she feels the need to speak her mind, she will. She's also a very good listener, and is known to be the person to go to when you just need to talk it out with someone.

There was once a small town in Louisiana that was poor as poor could be. The people had little to no money, and the children had no toys to play with. In an attempt to cheer the sad kids, an elderly woman decided to create home-made toys in an attempt to cheer them up. And thus the Strings Dolls were made.

The String Dolls became very popular among the children, for each was special and unique. The children would trade them, play with them, and love them. However, as the years went on, the town became less and less poor. The people prospered, and the town became something to be proud of. This meant, however, that the children were both new toys, better toys. The String dolls became a thing of the past, left in closets and the trash to be unravelled and undone.

Val was one of the few surviving String Dolls, having fallen out of a bag by the local cemetery. She was found by it's undertaker, an old little woman who liked to dabble in the dark arts. Aged bones keeping her from protecting the graveyard from robbers and the like, she decided it was time for an assistant, and using her powers, turned Val into a living toy. From them on she protected the cemetery, running odd jobs for the kind Undertaker, until the day she passed on. Now, the cemetery lays forgotten deep within a swampy woods, and Val has moved on, looking for a better life......

Val has a collection of hands and fingers stowed away in a hidden compartment of her bag. Both fresh and not-so-fresh, they are well preserved, and she likes to take them out and compare them. She's always adding to the collection, though never taking new additions from living beings..... who don't deserve it.

She likes to look closely and investigate hands, and is known to spontaneously grab someone's in order to get a better look (she doesn't hurt them or anything; just curious).

She has an irrational fear of being pulled on. She'll get a panic attack, thinking someone's trying to unravel her.
