I know it's weird. They're not even from the same universe.Actually, the thread was just for aliens in general, but... two of my fandoms have aliens, so I wanted to do.. this.
Pictured is Karkat, a troll from Homestuck and an attempt at Ax, an andalite from Animorphs. A troll and an andalite meet. Yeah.. I abused shading again, too. And lol, curly tail. And ignore his hand, I can't draw hands with 7 fingers.
Characters belong to their respective owners. I own nothing except for the art.
I'm pretty sure nobody watches me for Animorphs. Deal with it.
(But those who want to see more Homestuck drawings from me, why not watch my scraps? That's where I put them in order to avoid the newest deviations area..)

I read Animorphs yeeaaars ago but the series was so fun! I would have never thought that I would see some FanArt of it!
And it is even crossed with Homestuck!

As a heads up, I did submit this to an Animorphs fangroup just in case you want to see more fanart for it. ^^
But yeah, Animorphs is great! I used to be seriously hooked to the series back in 2010, so I'm kind of a newer fan of it. And Ax was my favorite character, and I really liked how weird Ax and Tobias' family tree is.
Ectobiology is probably even weirder with all those time shenanigans, and that's also one of the reasons I like Homestuck. Yay for interesting family trees.
Also, Animorphs made me like aliens in the first place.
Why am I rambling, this is already getting sort of off-topic.

I read the series years ago, when I was in school... it must be around.. 4-6 years?? I'm not sure.. the library at my school had a few Animorph books and I grabbed them all at once to read them x] They were great and I loved Ax! <3

Yes, agreed. Ax is awesome. I could actually relate to him the most oout of the group, somehow. And he's an alien. Then again, I've got Asperger's, so it's not really that different. We both talk a lot, if I remember him correctly. Overcomplicated phrases for the win.
And Homestuck, yes, that is literally the best thing I have ever read, and I really like how unique it is.
The fact that it was about some kids who have only met each other through the internet kind of won me over, it's not often I see a story like that! (It all kind of started with the "Zoosmell Pooplord" bit, yeah I'm immature, but I liked how he highlighted the fact that a lot of people abuse the naming system in a game like that, and didn't just go straight to his real name. And yeah, game mechanics are also fun)
It's like literally made for people like me, who spend a lot of time on the internet already.
And the plot is ridiculous, in a good way. I love how complicated it is. How it takes brains to understand it. And how there are all these little things that will go unnoticed the first time reading through, all those callbacks, foreshadowings, hidden puns, and so on.
And the fandom, yes. It has a sense of humor. It is also talented as heck. And it's really quick, too, producing loads of fanart (and sometimes cosplay) within the first hour of an update. It's also huge, huge enough to crash multiple sites at once when really determined ([S) Cascade, I'm looking at you), and to raise 700.000 in less than three days. I personally prefer the MSPA Forum part of it, mostly because most of those people actually understand what's going on. When there was something in an update that I didn't get, I usually consulted the forums. I really liked how organized it was, too.
I don't really care about the fact that there are some more.. ignorant people in the fandom, at least they're having fun!
(Even though I'm still sort of against those people who are only in it for the shipping, nothing else, but eh, that's their choice. I'm not them, even though those people seem kind of stupid to me, especially those who like to shove their ships down people's throats and connect their OTP to every update. *cough*john/maleshippers*cough*)

Except I got into it during the summer of 2010, about a year before the reprints came out.
I was born in 1996, so there's no way I could have been a part of the original generation who read Animorphs.
So I have never actually owned an Animorphs book. But have I rented one? Sure. I've had like six of them at once while me and my brother progressively read through the series.
We were lucky to have a library with almost all the books. Also lucky to have a publishing company that bothered with translating all of the books, except for the adventure ones, which I heard were terrible anyway.

that's cool though! i was born in 1998...which is the year the show came out, isn't it? so yeah...i kept finding discarded animorphs books at goodwill, and decided if i found the first one i'd check it out. so when i went to library i picked up the first few, read them, liked them, and kept reading. i REALLY got hooked when i read book six. i literally went into an animorphs coma...i couldn't sleep for a week because i was thinking about it too much...XD
that was the start of my geek-hood...since then i have become a total sci-fi/fantasy addict...
