My guess is that "spoon" and "banana" also have sexual meanings. "Spoon" obviously for spooning or cuddling post coitus, and "banana" for practicing oral sex, however, neither of these meanings were even implied anywhere in the cartoon. It was just random, but that's the only explanation I can come up with.

That could explain it. Or it could be something as simple as one of the Founders was too bothered by the randomness of the cartoons to allow fan art of them into their group.
