Description
Today, we had to put our rottweiler to sleep.
She had a massive tumor in her stomach, and it was beginning to spread into her lungs.

Even if we had taken her into the vet sooner, they wouldn't have been able to see it, or notice the signs.

Lexi was our rescue rott. She had been to 6 homes, before she finally came to us in 2005. She had many issues, but those issues were worked around. Lexi and I were like sisters. It was a contest feud between us, and god knows how many times we butted heads. Literally.

But...Lexi was a great dog. She was our protector, our "bye-bye" girl. She was up and at the car as soon as she heard that. She loved to stick her head out the window, and soak up the wind and sun on a beautiful day. She always loved to go swimming, or walking.

We never thought Lexi would be so great about Lullaby and her pups, after everything Lexi had been through with other dogs, and how long Lexi had been an only child. She helped me raise Lullaby's puppies from the very beginning. Lexi was a very sensitive soul, and she grieved when Lullaby left us, sitting in front of the kennel for over a week, staring at the dog house, waiting for Lullaby to come out.

We'll miss you, Lexi. You will always be in our hearts, and will always be with you.

You're with Lullaby, October, and Alex now, running through the woods, like you always loved to do. Racing our truck, and always winning.
