Photography always has luck involved, it's what you make of that luck that determines a great photo.
The imposing dark shadow of the bird of prey framed in the center is very stunning against the bright, yet wonderfully detailed, sky.
The color of the sky is also marvelous, and I love how it shifts to a darker shade as it moves away from the falcon.
Absolutely wonderful composition.
