Believe it or not the Devil Hulk isn't exactly gone the immortal Hulk has actually been confirmed to be Devil Hulk and he is one of the first banners many different personalities as he does suffer from multiple personalities disorder he represents ironically Bruce is bother him wanting love from his dad and never receiving anything more than hate however Devil Hulk does love Bruce.

The reason Brian Banner's Devil Hulk was form was so powerful was because he was feeding off Banner/Hulk's negative emotions (possibly even those of the other Hulks as well)... especially his anger/hatred.
Once Hulk/Banner conquered their hatred/rage/fear, Brian Banner vanished into nothing.
Just thought I'd share this little fun fact.
