I think they were planning to have Pinhead come out in Freddy vs. Jason. I know this has nothing to do with the question, and you probably already know, but I'm just putting this here.

Freddy vs Jason was originally supposed to be Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (Evil Dead), but Sam Raimi would not let Ash be used unless he won (no three way tie).
