points:

a wolf walks on its toes. as such, the heel of the paw (the area below the wrist" is longer and raised off the ground at a slight angle to the forearm.

the two middle toes protrude a little more than the outer two. they are usually about the same length, so foreshortening should have some difference in the toes.

i draw my wolves with four toes and a dewclaw. the amount of toes you put on your character is entirely up to you.the least I've seen is three, the most is, of course, five.

as short as they are, paws usually have knuckles. I'm not a huge master at this, but the trick is to define the knuckles more than the partition. i need to practice this more, though.

the more organic you can get the shape to be (less geometric, less into the guidelines), the better the general look.
