Description Jean might be coming back soon. Frankly, this is something I sorta want to avoid. Let me be clear. Jean is one of my all time favorite characters. I can and will go on at length talking about the evolution of her character, how she fits in with the X-universe, the dynamics of power, etc.

The big problem is that X-universe is howling pit of misery and pain and coming back just means putting her back on the chopping block. I would love a story where she comes back from the dead, flips everyone off, and goes to live a normal life somewhere far away from Scott Summers and his cursed penis.

In my head-canon, Jean's been back for a while. She and Wanda live in San Francisco together, sharing a small apartment. Wanda works at an alternative bookstore while Jean splits her time between working at a Teen crisis center and getting her psych doctorate. (She got her Masters during X-factor, I think.) They have a quiet, but happy life together.

(I know Wanda came back in Children's Crusade. I'm waiting to see how that plays out too.)

Hopefully Marvel will come up with something I like better. Until then, I have my head-canon.

Also, yes, Jean briefly had tentacles. I kinda wish she'd kept them. She seemed to like them and got good at using them in combat.

Also also, missed most of the 90s comic-wise, so there's a big chunk of time missing from this.

All characters belong to Marvel.

I nearly busted a gut in laughter at the Scott Summers and his cursed penis bit.

it may or may not interest you to know, the young Jean grey from the past (alternate reality, x men stuff is needlessly confusing) had a recent mini series (two, possibly three trades, I having being to the comic shop for a while so there could be more) Where Jean goes around to the veryus former hosts of the phoenix to get advice about how to deal with it (as its coming for her) either by beating it, sup coming to it , running the fuck away from it.

and she actually dose get some help from Wanda whos more moved into the magical community full time rather than mutan stuff. despite the young Jean and Wanda not having the best of history's with each other.

I don't know if id recommend the books but they where interesting, as they delta a lot with different kinds of trauma, mental illness,  destiny and fate, choice and the legacy of power.

also while I haven't read this story , Jean did try to live a normal life in a normal collage for a while before being dragged back into one of the xmen teams, I think the uncanny x men lead by storm. though that may be disingenuous of me as she was having doubts about being normal as had a brief flirting thing going on with some random dude whom was an anit mutan bigot.

but I can certainly apricate you aprication for jean, as while I don't much care for her. my own appreciation knows no bonds for another of the female x men. that being X 23 Laura Kinny.

And that was her best incarnation. Always ignored, NEVER SURPASSED.

And now with Marvel NOW and All New X-Men, and since they are running out of ideas about how to bring her back and new ways to traumatize her; they opted for bring to the original x-men to the present, and just judging her costume, it looks like the first costume when used to be Marvel Girl, when she was sweet and innocent.
I think the writters will have a good time introducing her to "her kids", Madelyne Pryor, Magneto and Emma Frost as "good" guys; seriously the poor Jean could get a trauma just discoverung what happened with her in the last 10 years (probably, according with Marvel, Avengers Disassembled and House of M just happened a few month ago.).

While not a big Jean fan, I can honestly say I like here a hell of a lot more then Scott Summers. I think I lost most of my interest in Jean because of all the shit they kept/keep doing to her. Scott can just disappear for all I care. Can not stand the pseudo boy scout.

BWAHAHAHHAA!!

Man, I can see both Wanda *and* Jean going, "nope, no more Xmen for me, nopenopenope." And Jean going, "Emma, you're welcome to him!" XD 'cause *man* did these two ladies ever get the short end of the stick from Marvel. What. The. Heck.

If I were Jean I'd be using my telepathy to wipe Scott's memory so she could *keep* living Happily Ever After. ^_^

I can't imagine Wanda and Jean spending their lives together but I like the idea anyway. I love how this is one big statement on how Marvel screwed her character so badly in the comic universes. I actually like her X-Men 1990s animated series and X-Men Evolution incarnations more than how she is portrayed in the source material. At least in those shows she remains pretty consistant, something her comic versions almost totally just don't do. As for Marvel, DC and the rest of comicdom I've long given up on them. DC was the more recent disappointment. Funny how I gave on Marvel first and DC dead last. Anyway, I like this comic and I thought it was pretty funny.

This is very accurate. I like your head canon better than Marvel's. Seriously. I remember the tentacles, and Banshee was missing a mouth. "Jean, yes it is!" Priceless.

I love your comics.

Personally, I like the character of Jean Grey.

But when they do the whole Phoenix shtick, that's when I make fun of her.
