This was actually done quite a while ago... started in August '07, worked on every once in a while, and then finished in January '08. Self portrait number 10928340, haha. If I did it now, I would change so many things about it (especially the hand that lacks underlying bone structure and therefore looks jello-y, and the reflection that's pretty wonky, etc)... but I just feel like posting it to have it on here.Comments/ critiques are appreciated! Thanks

It seems crazy that whenever I forget to check my deviant art for ages, cool stuff always seems to appear. This is really neat :-D I love the colors, they make it less creepy than the pose typically would (shots like this remind me of like, the ring and the grudge and other creepy japanese horror films)

This is beautiful. The colours you chose work really well together overall. Plus the hint of green in places (in the eyes and behind you) gives it interest but doesn't take away from the dominance on the hand.
Just, as you said, the hand looks jello-y. Your index finger is implied to have some sort of bone structure the the other fingers need it.
I'm really glad that you didn't put yourself in the middle of the composition. You're just slightly off, which is great. You automatically look right in the middle of the page, but the slight move to the left takes you throughout the rest on the work.
Overall this is absolutely great. I love it. <3
