Description
This was an assignment for illustration, done maybe 3 weeks ago. We had two choices: to do a personal piece that incorporated pattern in some way, or to do a patterned design that could be commercially sold on bed sheets, plates/cups, etc. I really missed drawing in photoshop because I hadn't used it in forever, so I decided to do the first option.

I've been drawing a lot of sleeping people lately... probably because I don't get enough of it. I used myself as reference for this, but I'm really sick of drawing myself so I need to start getting other people to pose for me, haha.

In this, I tried to emphasize the patterns rather than make it realistic, so I tried to make it almost flat-ish. Looking back, I kind of wish I made it more realistic, so I'll probably go back to that later. Oh, also, I worked differently for this, in that I sketched it by hand, scanned it in, and colored it. In the critique, people suggested I make the colors more dream like, and a few other things that I'll go back to and fix at some point.

Tools: PS CS3 (yay, no more PS Elements!!) and a Wacom Graphire 4 tablet
Time: Done over the course of two weeks, so it's hard to say... maybe.. a few hours for the sketch, and 10 hours for the actual painting?
