The great general was seated on a play-matt on the floor, his black wings encircling him, his masamune poking up behind him like an exclamation point. Beneath his wings, peeping loudly, were eight very small children. It was clear how Sephiroth had kept the little ones from freezing during their confinement, and the smell of pudding, apple juice, and oranges spoke of trips to the lunch room to rummage for whatever food they could find. The glossy black pinions were sticky with juice and candy, and the silky white hair was tinted odd shades with finger paint and pudding.
“Not…a…word,” Sephiroth growled warningly as small children began to peek through the feathers.

I know I've commented on this lovely picture before but there's just something about Sephiroth's face that reminds me of Dearest Ratty in her love/struggle with tiny tiny Cinnamon the Wood-Rat.
All Cinnamon would need would be the finger paint, bless him, to help him show his Mom how much he loves her -- oh, and maybe some really tiny orange peels to leave in places unmentionable.

Follow Mama Otter, Darling and shed your clothes. You'll soon be neck deep in hot water and you tea and cake will be in arm's reach and there's plenty of all of each of them. Take as long a bath as you like and eat as much cake as you like. Tea refills upon request.
You did a wonderful think protecting the children, Dearest for as long as you did. The least thing I can do is let you bathe in peace and give you cake and tea.

No I haven't, and I'm kinda torn between worried and annoyed. She once contacted me in tears because she hadn't heard from me, and now she does this. I'd like to know if she and her husband are all right. If I knew her real life name I'd phone her and demand an update.
