Description If giving a joking estimate, this is my 9,124th cipher/script.
In actuality... assuming I made only 10/year for the past 8 and 25/year for the most recent two, that'll make this about the 110th.

Based on a symbol study of the English alphabet, the theme is 2 curves per letter and a lil ambiguity. H and B share a character. I have not made an uppercase version. Use/modify it as you please, if you please.

Pretty cool idea as I like how it was executed. Thematic restrictions can definitely lead to some peculiar glyphs as a resulting yield.

Oh wow, I didn't know you made that many scripts. I used to make a ton of scripts years ago. I still do now but not as often. Not sure if I hit 100, I would have to go back and count.

If I guess to guess for category, this could be considered a font/cipher designed for English.

Thanks! I've done ciphers with similar restrictions before (a line and a curve, two lines and a dot, etc) and I enjoy seeing how it always comes out differently.

Yep; it is a cipher for the Latin alphabet as used in English. I wonder if there are other alphabets I could get acquainted with and make ciphers for. Have you worked with ciphers in the past?

Yeah I've made ciphers before as those were some of the first scripts I made before I knew IPA and much about other scripts. Very early on though, I switched to making scripts where the characters are based off of phonetics so they could go over non-English things and be more universal.

If you are interested in doing something different than the ISO basic Latin alphabet, I suggest you jump onto (www.omniglot.com/writing/alpha… ) and see if anything intrigues you. Either that or check another language's alphabet with letter modifications.

I've spent the last 10 minutes looking at alphabets from the link you sent, and realized I forgot to reply!
Most of my scripts are phonetic, but still clearly attached to sounds used in the English language. If I could categorize all the scripts I make in my spare time, I'd only need 3 bins (ciphers, 1-to-1 phonetic alphabets, and syllabic alphabets). Where does creativity come from? I've seen a few of your scripts and can't begin to understand how you got there.

(I was bored before, but with a nice compiled resource like what you have linked to, I think I will be occupied for quite a while.)

"I've spent the last 10 minutes looking at alphabets from the link you sent, and realized I forgot to reply!"

Ahaha, Omniglot is pretty cool eh? I don't remember when I found out about it as it was years ago but it's a pretty

cool linguistics source.

Generally, I have an idea and an aesthetic in mind and then I just doodle many glyphs until I like what I see. At least

that's a pretty simplified way of explaining it.

That does sound really simplified; I imagine you put a lot of work into the scripts you come up with. Like this one - figuring out how to put the pieces together and create meaning, while also coming up with what base pieces were needed in the first place, and steering it toward an eye-pleasing end result - it certainly seems like it takes a lot of work. I like your scripts a lot; even with your explanation, I can't comprehend being able to come up with things like what you have created.

Ah, I see what you mean. I dunno, I generally don't feel like there's that much effort sometimes as some of these scripts were made in one day in a span of hours. I don't know how long that one was but probably in hours time. I wasn't designing a full-blown logography so I think that's why that one was short.

If I were to make a full logography then yeah I'd imagine days, especially because I would have to write formal rules regarding how some characters and sometimes specific character combinations would fuse and squish (ex. Han characters use δΊ» to represent δΊΊ as a radical but specifically if δΊΊ is on the left.)Β  and I'd be more pressured to keep a consistent look.
