The bottom of her heels clicked and scuffed on the marble floor as she paced. Through the open arches, sounds of the ocean and free birds flowed in.

The sounds usually lulled her to sleep, but today they failed to even settle her heart. Another man was to arrive today, hopefully he would be the one to help her reach her goal...

So far twenty different men had come and gone in the last week. Either they didn't like what they saw of her or the kingdom, or her parents felt like they couldn't be trusted.

They couldn't afford to be this selective, but they only had one daughter. They'd almost lost her once.

Before too long, they needed to find suitor to their low, but still high standards. Time was running up and they had to act fast before things went even further down the drain.

Each night they prayed the next prince, duke, or lord to walk in would be their salvation, but each day they were disappointed..

Zephira's attention snapped to the large oak doors at the other end of the room as she heard a knock. She turned to face the entrance, hands clasped together at her waist.

Before speaking, she said a silent prayer. Then with her head held high, she called out: "Come in."

This one could be it, this could be the man that aides them back to prosperity..

Zephira has opened herself to the chance of marriage once again. After her first failed marriage, she is cautious, but hopefully.
Her parents have sent letters to each and every kingdom announcing their intent to marry of their daughter in exchange for military, medical, and financial aide.
