Fire. One of my personal favorite types. There are a TON of great Fire types, so this was hard to choose (I stuck with pure Fire types, because some of my other faves are dual types). I chose to reference Cinnabar Island AFTER eruption in the background (the lone Pokémon Center makes an appearance as well...and I added a very minor reference to a distant Pallet Town).

Growlithe is my second favorite Pokémon of all time, and my favorite Fire type. It and Arcanine have solid stats and great abilities. Growlithe is also adorable (I'm a dog person). It's using Outrage here...simply because I think it's hilarious that the adorable Growlithe can learn OUTRAGE. I'm referencing the battle animation of B2W2 for this, because it's the coolest.

Ninetales is my second favorite. It's a somewhat odd choice, because I rarely use Ninetales. But its sinister character, design, and interesting learnset (Confuse Ray, Will-o-Wisp, Extrasensory etc) really won me over. It's using Will-o-Wisp here.

Pansear is my least favorite. I'm not a fan of the elemental monkeys. I would have been fine with them if the designers didn't decide to put them EVERYWHERE. They're in the first gym in BW. You get one to help you with said Gym. They and their evolved forms are found in the restaurants in Lumiose. And you know if you see one, you'll see three other two. WHY. The main reason I don't like them is because they are unoriginal. But honestly, after drawing it, the design isn't terrible. Also, fire monkey has already been done, and done very well. If its evolution was better, I would probably have chosen something else. It's using Incinerate here.

Whew...this description was longer than I thought it would be. I also finished this sooner than I thought I would. I'm very happy with how this turned out. It was a lot of fun and came easily to me.
