It works pretty similar to the UltraScenery System, with an Assistant Generator Script, and the option to add future tree types.

Again this is technology depending on a huge amount of instancing, but well done and optimized. I've never seen such huge trees run so smoothly.
You can't of course re-instance the trees, but since you can add a decent amount, it's doable.

I have some issues, first that there is no option for low quality (LOD) versions like in Andreys set, since you really don't need that kind of quality for every tree in a forest.
Second, even though these trees are tall (you use fixed trunk models), only a few are beyond 10 m height, so for an older forest with tall trees, there is very little in possible candidates.
But this is only a first impression, some workarounds probably exist.

Don't be fooled, though, apart from some of Andreys latest trees (which work on a different philosophy with no Iray-instancing whatsoever), these are the best trees for DAZ3D I've come across until now.
They sure look majestic.

This set itself is created from 2 simple ultra-scenery blocks, and still did render decently quickly.
