This is the iteration on this post: Loulia shader comparison - check for details there, too.

Shaders:
PSSSFID from dfggcxbbb . Modified for use without spectral rendering and some minor parameters. Check guide for details.
Altern8 from DAZ. I used the Altern8 - Monique / No Maps preset and did modify translucency/tint/sss for a darker skin shade. Not enough in hindsight.

The merged shader consists of Altern8 then PSSSFID on top of it.
Setup:
Studio Light Pro Iray HDRI - Soft Light - as is.

Character:
Loulia from Isourcetexture : www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/bcs…
Painted brows replaced by fibermesh brows. Eyes from Nulpi, same vendor.

Post work: only minor editing for presentation.

Comment:

This time I did all pictures on the same basic settings and did not correct in post work.
I used a dark preset for Altern8, but it still did come out pretty pale. At least I did no longer have to compensate.
The merged shader, as stated above, combines the two shaders with some adaptions to make it work.

Of course the limitations of Genesis 8 and 4k textures are visible if you know where to look, but I think overall that this is a nice start for illustration work at 4k, even for closeups.
I'll turn this setup into a material preset and test it with different lightings and characters next.

As a side note - I did a run with the old (gen3) NGS Anagenessis, but it was completely out of it's league here. So I'm waiting for a juicy sale to get my hands on the new one, and then I might do another comparison, since it's really the remaining 'rival'.

Opinion to get angry about (free bonus - Why try to be all objective when you can troll and destroy with a two liner?)

I hate Victoria 8.1 - the shader may have some potential, but what they turned out is a lifeless rubber doll in comparison. Ugly and covered with silly body paint in the promos, so nobody notices.
So... now you can give me hell, if you like.
