Last night i read all of the lost avatar comics and it got me in the mood to do some fan art. i did a couple sketches and liked this one so i cleaned it up.i get a really nostalgic when i talk about avatar, as it was my first true fandom that i was part of. I'll spare you a whole long thing, but its basically this: I love korra, its amazing and wonderful, and i love how its a spin off but yet stands on its own. But i miss the original series, especially the first season. Where the whole avatar world just seemed so big, and it seemed like this impossible mission for these three kids to stop a war. i just miss the sense of mystery of the world, i guess. and i miss the fandom, it was a good fandom. the korra one is a bit like the original one but it seems a bit harsh for my tastes. especially when it comes to arguments over whitewashing by artists. but whatever... yeah i'm kinda rambling so i'm going to stop

I'm actually going through the whole series again, and it brings back so many good memories. I tried to get back on the old ASN oekaki, but it's been shut down.

Cool. Not really biased towards either: I've only seen a few episodes of the TLA and the movie (which everyone tells me was horrible). But one of the people I watch here works on LoK, so it can't be too bad.

okay i'm just going to say this now *because i have opinions* the movie is not in anyway related to the original show! and shame on you, they are all on netflix instant stream. screw your finals, you watch avatar now!!!

that would be cool, but i have a feeling that we aren't going to get too much, this season at least. if you want more backstory you can always pick up the comic the promise. i know the first volume is out, and i think the second just came out this past week

the promise is what happens right after the third season. and the lost adventures are comics that were published in nick magazine, and the ones that were going to be published when nick magazine ended.
