Description
Augh this guy is just the sweetest, I can truthfully say I will be so sad to see him go - that's the first time I've felt that about one of my dolls! He's a "rabigon", a cross between rabbit and dragon, designed by inoriekay .Here's a bit of the description she sent me, which I think is just beautiful: "Rabigon are very rare creatures. It is said that when a Rabigon bonds with a pregnant woman they will grow as the baby grows and protect the mother and child for all of their lives. Fiercly loyal they can sense ill-intentions. Their sense of smell can detect many poisons and hazards long before a human could."
He's lovely and this is just one of the many photos I took of him being adorable. If you go to my website and click on 'commissions' you can see more photos.
Look I used a background colour that isn't blue! 8D
---
I make my dolls entirely from scratch, staring with a wire armature held together with epoxy putty. I then sculpt the fimo details on and bake the whole thing. Once it's out of the oven I wrap it in quilt batting then measure a pattern and cut the fur. The fur is hand sewn using a ladder stitch to hide the seams, then brushed and painted with dylon fabric paints. Any details are glued on (like feathers or more fur), the fimo painted with acrylics and finally covered in a matt varnish to protect the paint, or gloss varnish on nails, eyes and scales/beaks.
I do take commissions! Send me an email hello@magweno.com for more info
Thanks for looking!

I like how you don't just have a stiff creature but more "realistic" in the sense that it can almost move and have more character and personality simply from it's expression and body language.
Very creative.

He is yes He has an armature that enables him to be gently repositioned into any pose imaginable!
He was a commission though, so if you're interested in buying one I'll have to add you to the waiting list.

I was just curious as to if its a baked clay like sculpy how it could retain movability, unless the joint points themselves were left uncovered until the fabric stage... Brilliant work! I love your attention to detail - and at such a small scale too - very impressive!

The armature doesn't have clay on it, just the head and paws
Thanks so much!

Well the rabigon creature isn't my design, it was *inoriekay 's idea, I just made the doll. You can ask her for permission to make one, or you could brainstorm some ideas yourself with cute/mythical animals! ~snuffkin has some really nice tutorials on making original characters and designs, you should give them a quick read to inspire you.
Also if you need more styles to mix your design up a bit, visit my group, #PosableArtDolls , there are loads of different artists in the gallery there that have amazing creatures.
Good luck making the doll, let me know if you need any help!

aww its not your idea? o well i can make a diffrent creature with bunneh ears ^3^. i looked in snuffkins gallery and all through her profile i think she might of erased all the tutorials . i cant find anything helpful in her gallery. i have placed your group on my watch. and i thankyou and if i need help i will ask you . umm quick questions im thinking of using airdry clay is it ah how am im going to say this? strudy enough/doesnt break so easily ? and i have seen some creatures and they look so posable as if the wire bends . do i need a wire that bends easily to make it pose? or maybe those creatures dont have wire in them?

Sorry I got that user wrong, I meant *griffsnuff . Here's the part of her gallery that has all the tutorials: [link]
Air dry clay will work fine, I just like the tactile qualities of fimo. Yes you do need wire that bends easily for the creature to be posable, I use aluminium modelling wire. Some creatures like =wereRemjiff 's don't have armatures though, I couldn't tell you how to make them.
