Making avatars just requires practice, that's all. I don't even have programs like Photoshop, Flash, or the Gimp. I use MS Paint sometimes, but usually I just use Arcsoft Photostudio. I make my avatars frame by frame, then I use a free gif animation program to animate it.

THE gif animator program? I use Microsoft gif animator. It's free, but it is very basic. I used to use Easy Gif Animator, but it's a trail program and only has 20 free uses.
