So I came up with this is idea, while playing the sims. (Can you believe that?) If you play the sims, you know that that little plumbob appears over the head of the sim you are controlling. When it's there, their life is in your hands.

Wat? How does awesomeness like this exist? EA needs to get their crap together, and hire you as a concept artist for the Sims 5/ANYTHING THAT NEEDS GOOD ART.
