my project for class.25 piece project.
25 hand cut stencils.
the 25 players from the 1980 US Olympic hockey team.
used Montana GOLD spray paint; shock red, light blue and black.
took about 16+ hours to cut the 25 stencils, and 4+ hours to paint.

Can't quite make it out on the photo. Are they connected be hoops or clips? Did a painting like that on canvas for 6th form, way back. Still one of my faves
This looks awesome. Stencilling can take up a lot of time. But when you pull it off the results are awesome

they're up on the studio wall with thumb tacks. it was a temporary hanging for a critique with my class & some good friends.

HOLY HECK that's one massive endeavor, but all your work certainly paid off cause this is so terrific!
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the 1980 miracle team, but if I was I'm sure I'd be even more impressed than I currently am. All the players look completely individual. <3
And even with the minimalistic style that goes along with something like this, I think you incorporated a great amount of detail. Like on the shirt collars and the shapes of the jawlines.
I really hope you do more of this stencil art, cause I think you're great at it.

Yeah I'm definitely going to keep up with this. I really enjoy it. I'm going to work on a couple other stencils tonight to see what I can get. ^^
