20 years ago I made a model for a Classic Homeworld 1 mod called "Beyond the Final Frontier" (I went by the avatar of "The Stress Puppy" back then). The ship was called the Yamamoto class battleship. It was heavily influenced by the Starfleet Command/Klingon Academy Yamato class battleship (more like a direct TOS rip off of the ship). Still I liked the design. The original model was just a bash, and upscale of my then Version 2 Constitution class model (current TOS Connie model is version 4). I was just a beginner as far as modeling back then. Also there were severe limits to both poly count, and texture resolution in 1999/2000. So the quality of most of my models back then to put it politely... Sucked.

20 years later I am revisiting that old model. This time NOT just another TOS Constitution kit bash. Though some elements are based off of her. Also there is some NX class influence. Some Miranda class influence. Most important she keeps similar lines with the old Yamato class BB from SFC/KA. The twin secondary hulls were original at the time. 2000 was long before Kelvin era ST 2009 came out.

The warp nacelles are a unique design. Intended to blend in TOS, and Phase 2 looks. Basing her specs off of the old SFB "Space Control Ship" concept. At 1000 meters long Tyr will be the largest ship the Federation has ever built at the time. The Primary Hull has a large hangar bay attachment for strike craft (shuttlecraft, support, and fighter craft). Also space for Buildable Modules. Science, Armor, Weapons, and Advanced tech. Along with smaller logistics modules. She packs a lot of firepower. Standard phasers throughout the ship, and a rapid fire photon torpedo module on the upper rollbar. The lower rollbar module is a captured Romulan Plasma Torpedo (Experimental, and functionality is questionable). Tyr is analogous with the Homeworld Cataclysm Command ship. Hangars have both landing, repair, and construction capabilities. The twin secondary hulls are through deck hangar bays. Capable of supporting corvette class (Archer Class) ships. The secondary hulls along with the lower warp nacelles can separate. However this will damage the upper hangar "Drydock". Speaking of which. The upper hangar bay module has a deployable drydock facility. With enough resources the drydock is capable of repairing, and constructing starships up to a Federation Class Dreadnought. However Tyr will become immobile during this process. Think of her as the "Mothership" in Homeworld.

Obviously more work needs to be done with her, and Tyr's final appearance may not be the same.
