Haha. Yeh. Style is always developing and many times even I'm not sure what my style is. I'm glad you said you can still see it somewhere here. Thank you!! Yeh, I feel artists need to branch out more instead of just Korean everything so i wanted to do a bit of Japan. XD

yeah, you're right. with me it's the other way round. I'm drawing a lot of Korean artists at the moment. the next one will be lee hongki of f.t.island...again xD he's so difficult to draw.

Everyone is listening to Korean now. Hahaha. That's why I went back in Japan. Just too mainstream now. I guess I don't appreciate that. But glad you're getting into Korean. You're drawing Hong Ki!! yep, I actually have never dealt with korean pop before. arirangTV is responsible for it xD maybe you know this. probably everybody watchs it now so it became very mainsteam.
It was the same with j-rock the last few years. suddenly everybody started to call each other with japanese names and all this stuff...^^ but I wont stop drawing japanese people anyway (=
yeah, hong ki has got this speacial charisma. That's why I really love to draw him.

Yeh. Certain music just wear off over time and get replaced by another. It's pretty much a cycle. But hey, we listen to what we want. ;]
I've watched arirang tv whenever I go on vacation...one of the channels always has to do with Korean be it Arirang or MTV Asia. =__= Music is everywhere. ;D

Unfortunately, I don't receive MTV Asia ;_; but it's probably better that way. otherwise I'd spend the whole time with watching TV, I wouldn't go out anymore and then I'd lose all my friends...or something like that

Then I suppose it's best you don't have it. Good to be updated with the latest music of course. Though the bad thing is they kept replaying stuff. I saw break out! by dbsk twice in a row. Next hotel I saw it again. D; They have a lot of girl groups in there. I felt I wanted to see my guy groups.

I havn't noticed that they repeat songs very often yet because I only watch arirang in the evening. but it's the same with german MTV. They only show Lady Gaga or Lena Meyer Landrut...
yes, I also like boy groups most. and they show a lot of ballads. I can't do anything with it^^ I want to see them dance! xD

Wow, that`s the exact same photo i was gonna use for ref for my upcoming Satoshi portrait XD I`m kind of glad that you`ve already started it first because there is another version of Satoshi i wanted to paint just as much ... a more older back-in-the-day version (( from Owari to Mirai PV )) ~ i really miss their old stuff and looks =A='
But your portrait looks amazing !! <33 I mean yes there are a few minor misplacements, especially with his right eye, it`s a little off ... and the left side of his lips, there`s a small curve of the lip line you`re missing. However, the texture is incredible as always, and I really like how you painted Satoshi`s left eye. The hair ... the hair is marvelous !!
I apologize if the criticism was not something you wanted, I didn`t know if I should put it in or not, you did not mention it in the artist comment, so once again I apologize if it was unnecessary. I really look forward to the completed painting

No, it's alright. I might not mention if I want critique but I highly appreciate it if you do make one. As long as you critique it before I submit the final piece. I'm glad you made it during the WIP process. Since if you didn't, then I'd be sad. XD So again, i appreciate it and I'm not angry or offended with your words.
Truthfully, I already knew about that with the lips. I'm not finished with it yet so I left it like that. Since compared to the ref, mine is a lot more "rough". Still need to soften it up. And yes I know the right eye is slightly off but I was planning to leave it. But since you pointed it out, I might as well fix it. >.> Thank you!

yeah Ash, i agree. If this is 'ehhh' then i really wonder what 'great' looks like. Purple tones look awesome. Different to full colour or it being black and white.
It is amazing so far. I love the shading around the eyes and nose. I love how defined the nose and eyes are and how you've done the creases in the eyes, makes it more real. I love the light hitting off the tip of the nose, it adds to the realness. I love the lips because of the detailing. The do not like worms or prunes but like real lips. And the hair! the hair so far looks so soft, so detailed <3 I want to touch it, lol.
I really love it so far. Yes, keep going because the finished piece will look amazing.

-hugs- Thanks for all the kindly typed words about all the features on my drawing. It made me real happy despite the minor mistakes I have yet to fix. His right eye is in need of repair and his lip curve needs to be a bit more...well curved. LOL. Someone pointed all that out to me since she had the ref though I did notice those things before...but you know us lazy folks. -does not fix it until someone points it out- Lol.

lol, tried to give my input as best i could. I actually couldn't spot anything wrong with it so i thought i'd mention all the good things. Which was like everything, lol but i think i kinda see those minor fixes you mentioned. Very minor and won't take long to fix them.

The soft purple-ish colors you used are simply beautiful, and that's what creates the special mood here. And I have to mention the lips as my favourite part once again; they're sooo realistic. o:

Gawd, you're good at bending my words around. <3 Thank you. Yeh, I love the purplish look. I was planning to do it in b&w but one of my friends told me to do it in this color. So I suppose I have her to thank that I kept with the purple. XD Or I would have done the b&w instead. -.-
Thank you! Though there are a still minor mistakes I got to fix. Then again, nothing can be perfect. Ahaha. Lips are still on the rough side compared to the ref. A bit difficult to make it softer since I don't like blending to the point of no return or blending to the point of fake. D;

Your friend has a great sense then. Knowing you, it would still look badass in b&w, but, as I said, it has that "mood" now.
I still think the lips look great; sort of raw, I'd say. Also, I really like how soft the hair looks, with only some of the strands being sharp; it's something I can never achieve (either because of lack of skills or eternal laziness, it doesn't really matter), so I admire it even more. ;D
