Description
As sunset falls upon a forest in what is now the Morrison Formation, an Allosaurus fragilis strolls by the conifer trees as Harpactognathus pterosaurs fly overhead to roost in the branches and a small mammal looks from upon a tree log at the lower right corner.Allosaurus fragilis is also the second creature which is part of my Archosaur Art April list, Amargasaurus in third, and the first is Archosaurus rossicus (well...thatβs because it is the sole creature which lends its genus name to the entire Archosaur family of sauropsid reptiles.)

Sweet! That's a great allosaurus, very detailed and with a cool pose to top it all off. The background is really nice too, so full of life but without it distracting one from the , it just complements it to create a wonderful image. Plus, the whole picture gave me a rush of nostalgia, because it heavily reminds me a of the from covers of my paleontology books (most of them were drawings of a big carnosaur in its natural habitat, but focusing a lot more on the dino than the background).

And what about the additional little creatures added to enhance the setting too?

They make the picture look more complete. So yeah, they do enhance the setting.

Right. And of the orange sky, too; doesnβt it add to all the warm colors used for the scene? (The allosaurus also has yellow and red as part of its color scheme too)

Yes, and the trees' colors also help it look nicer. All details work so well together

Of course. π The trees and plants all have a warm shade of green to them as well.
