When looking at photomanips, I always make sure to pay attention to my first reaction. What did I feel when I first saw the work? The greatest strength this work has is its simplicity created through complexity. I feel, in a way, that describes my own style of art, where multiple images are brought together to bring a simple and powerful idea to life.
The use of depth in this work is especially impressive, and I love the touches you add with the floating/flying leaves. The way the ground softly fades into the distance, leading to an out-of-focus tree and moon really helps bring the statue out more.
My only real critique is the lighting on the statue coming from the moon. As the eye goes further down the statue to the base, the light will be much softer and less visible. In other words, it will be very strong near the top and barely visible near the bottom. If you ever decide to revamp this work or tweak a few things, try experimenting with a gradient effect on the glow around the statue.
Despite that, though, this is a work I would gladly want a print of in my home. It is soft, sensual, and intelligent. Very nicely done.
