My entry to the Pacific Rim contest~

Was actually really fun to portray my hometown of rural Japan, a small town called Sasayama. The area I tried to draw is a setting pretty much right outside my window, which is cool.

The design of the Jaeger: I was trying to go for a rounded Japanese looking design, I like to think that if Japan created a Jaeger it would be really technologically advanced, as opposed to using brute force. Got his little blade to keep the distance between the Kaijuu and him, lights to keep an eye on him, and a plasma cannon to wear him down! Heavy armor to keep him alive, and a retracted/able head to keep the Pilots out of danger. The characters on the chest read 'Hinan' Which translates to 'evacuate'.
