Oh cool, you don't see him without his face-plate often.
What did you use to draw this?

I like to use Pennelli 8x10 sketchpads (aka item#E5501 -6). They tend to be grainy when scanned but easily cleaned in photoshop CS.
As for pens, my personal favorites are cheap office pens and donation/gift pens. I know it sounds weird but I got all these expensive Faber-Castell, ultramegadeluxe pens but I NEVER use them. Instead my muse/skills shine through with these silly dollar-store pens, lol. Honestly it was found out through trial and error, I just ended up going with what felt the best. Iβve used Sakura microns before (very good pens) but my art lacked soul/rhythm/panache. So yah, donation/office pen ftw!

Michael's, sometimes Ross or Marshall's has them also.
I rarely shop online.

Neat Thanks so much! I was curious how you did all the textures
Yeh, It's weird how cheaper art stuff tends to be just as good as the expensive things.
"Ultramegadeluxe" that's a word I need to sneak into conversation sometime!

I also like to say MEGAULTRADELUXE! For emphasis, lol.
My style tends to be mostly cross-hatch style for shading, basically I follow a lot of the 70s, 80s and 90s traditional inking comic-strip/books tutorials. They were also used in βweeklyβ comic strips for backgrounds and such. I memorized a lot of them when I was in high school, a book that really helped me when I was younger was βPen and Inkβ by Carl Glassford.

lol!
Oh nice, my traditional stuff tends to look too flat.
I'll have to look him up for ideas, thanks.
