The view from here is getting better with you by my sideI did this after watching a ton of DP episodes and I was thinking about how much character development the Rockets have had in DP. Originally I was going to have them looking over the last bit of Sinnoh, or something dumb like that, but I think the contests had a lot to do with their character development so I decided to use Lake Valor, where the GF was held. I guess you could look at it either way, they're looking at it before the Grand Festival begins, or after she loses. Nyasu/Meowth was originally there but it didn't look right with him...>)
I did a really quick paint over of the contest hall to get it kind of right because I was having trouble getting it right just from eyeing it up, and kind of filled in the background the same way, just using random blobs of color because once I shrink it down all the detail goes away and it doesn't even matter. It was all a huge experiment for me, I like to challenge myself with backgrounds....
I know there are still lots of mistakes, but like I said, this was overall a huge experiment for me, and saving the file always kills my color, makes me so angry >__<
Characters aren't mine, they belong to Game Freak and Nintendo and Pokemon and all of that business.

Ah, this is really pretty! Your style and coloring are so unique. Btw, you said saving the file kills your colors, do you save in .jpg/.jpeg or .png?

I don't like to save things in .png because for some reason they're harder for me to upload. I know .jpg kills them but they load faster, maybe I'll try it with the next one though XD

Is this done in a digital medium? It's almost like I can see brush strokes, which I think looks great. I always think it's cool if digital can look like something else, but it's still cool if it not. Just wondering...

I like how you put Musashi and Kojiro in the picture. It gives me the feeling of "goodbye", amazing job.

Yeah, I think that's kind of the feeling I was going for, though I guess it could be taken as before the Grand Festival, too, however the viewer wants to look at it 
And I got the colors for the sky and the sea from screenshots of the pokemon anime using the eye dropper, I'm not creative enough to think to use greens for the sea! o__o

I haven't seen the GF yet but I should watch it because Switzerland will air it maybe in a few months if they always have to start from the beginning with season 12.
