Description
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the Greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time

Markings glow and shimmer in the light. Tail and back legs are see through.
The star markings on the tail and feet seem to be suspended in their body, as if it's their insides.

History: Galaxia was always the odd one out. Ever since she was born she was singled out for her difference in physical appearance, concerning her see through tail and back legs along with the star markings which ‘float’. She was considered a freak among her city, and amongst her planet.
She was born in a planet far away, isolated in the middle of nowhere, the nearest living civilisation being many light years away. Her planet looks more like a moon, for being extremely small. The whole planet is covered by a never ending sea of swamps. Her city was considered one of the poorest and less developed of the whole planet, which was to say a lot. Every day, her family had to do the unthinkable to be able to get some money to buy a loaf of bread. Everyone around them lived just as bad or worse than them. The place was a living hell for everyone.
Galaxia was submerged in low self-esteem and high self-hatred as she grew. She always despised the way she looked, hating being different from family, friends, colleagues and everyone. She was bullied at school, outside of school and even at her own house by her family. They harassed her both physically and mentally, mentally being when they made fun of how she looked with her inside’s ‘floating’, her missing part of her body and her skull like face. She got hit and beaten up everyday by whomever happened to walk by her.
She had had enough of everything and decided to leave the place, packing her few possessions up and leaving in the first spacecraft she could board.

Galaxia never was treated differently during her travels. Wherever she went, she always had to block the murmurings and insults she got from the people around, which slowly started to turn her into a bitter and unemotional person. She slowly started to lose all emotions and feelings, no longer caring about what other people thought of her. She started wearing a golden mask everywhere she went, signalling she didn’t give a heck about the world around her, that they could go burn in hell for all she cared.
She liked to see people suffer in a similar way to how she did, as punishment for how they treated her. She traveled the galaxy, finding new planets and people to make their like miserable when they make the mistake of making fun of her. After a while, she decided to settle in, find a planet that would feel safe to her where she could live in peace. And she found Earth.
Her first few years at Earth were rough, for she had to get accustomed to their ways and learn their rules. She had a tough time trying to blend in with society and find a place where she could live in peace and call home.

Her opinion on living beings is not a very nice one, considering how she got treated when she was younger. She can’t stand their way of thinking about things different from what they know. She being who she is, has had a rough time trying to understand why people act how they act, but she always ends with the answer of them being people who are not open-minded and only judge by the outside.
Galaxia now lives in a small two-story house 10 minutes away from Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana, USA. The swamp reminds her of where it all started: her planet. She is grateful for the peace and quiet the swamp surroundings provide her with, for she does not feel ready to deal with other living beings as of yet.

History: Laughter has always left Fade... uneasy. Because they've never seen a laugh that reaches the eyes, accompanied by a smile and perhaps some friendly gesture, or at least a sense of contentment. It's always been forced, or that nervous laughter that does little to hide the fear one truly feels. And to a degree... Fade understands. They are... unsettling, that's the word they prefer. A mako that shimmers and fades into only the most bare existence, who sometimes oozes sharp ozone-lightning scented blue that burns flesh and scorches grass when cut. Whose face resembles a badly shattered skull, and the mask that hides it isn't all that more comforting. Perhaps their parents (if they even had any) were kind-- Fade likes to imagine they were, but that imagining is all they have.
Hard as it is to say... they aren't one of those great success stories, where rejection and fear left one tender and with boundless calm and some desire to save others from going through the same pain. While Fade doesn't often seek out fights... the fact remains that they still do. That they have grown cold and weary of the world, emotions dulled so, like most of Fade, they're barely even there any more. The times Fade has found someone to call a friend, they've spent every moment waiting for the inevitable end-- because it does all end, every kindness is laced with a trap, every sweet word just a lure to be humiliated or used. It's not uncommon for Fade to end these fleeting relationships themself now, trying to claim some agency in the matter-- same as why they lie, why they might go out of their way to provoke a fight, even if they get hurt... this time it was on their terms. Their choice to hurt for once, and maybe make someone else suffer a little bit too. That, or else down their sorrows in anything that might leave them numb-- alcohol is a popular choice, but sometimes literal numbness too, drifting out to freezing currents or refusing to find shelter once cold winds and snow start howling about.
Easier to be numb than it is to feel... because when Fade can't find a fight, can't be cold and distant, they feel it all and it hurts more than anything else they've ever known. They know they're doing wrong, that they've become no better than what turned them so cold in the first place. And sometimes, through the haze before blacking out... Fade wonders, if maybe there might be such a thing as a second chance, they can pack up and find somewhere far, far away... change their name, maybe that might help change their heart some too. But they wake up, eventually, head aching and weary to the bone and think... tomorrow.

It's worth noting, that their recent history has been plagued by... well, Fade thinks they're just seeing things, brought on by a semi-permanent stupor and time that can barely count as sleep. It's just a flash, if that; of some great, unblinking green eye or a strange black feather that seems to evaporate in the sunlight... but that's something to investigate later.

history (I guess backstory?): Born off of the coast of Greenland sea, he was raised by a very protecting and kind mother. They traveled quite often so the only company he had was his mother and the occasional fish he had for food here and there. They did meet a few other of their species along the way but never really socialized with them. He left his mother at a younger age because he was tired of just drifting and moving around. His mom was upset but let him leave to fend for himself. Before he left she gave him a gold mask forged in the flames of a under water volcano long ago (shush I know it cant happen just eh) and said that it would protect him from the troubles to come for protecting others. He was confused by what she said but took the mask and kept it. Not knowing he was just a piece of a prophecy in being the fourth league leader of what would be The Protectors. (I'm so uncreative sob but this design is just lovely and amazing)
