Description A small Luxray figure stands nearby as I type this. And ALL I can think of when looking at the critter is THIS hackjob of a theory.

Not sure if I entirely like Luxray at the moment, but something about it draws my attention.

Characters belong to their respective people.

You know, forget about comparing it to Yu-Gi-Oh. After drawing it, I think a better comparison would be Shadow the Hedgehog.

I've thought about that comparison a few times, to be honest. X3

I think you could compare Luxray to both of them. But Shadow just seems like a better choice now that I think about it. The hair is almost a perfect match.

Perhaps. But the "result" would be different.

True, but I'm sure that one could be drawn up about it. Like "two characters with spiky hair trying to look bad ass" or something like that.

Sure, but you could draw that comparison just between Shadow and Yugi.

And Vegeta.

Which was another entity that was popping into mind recently when looking at Luxray.

That is true, but again, Shadow's hair seems to come the closest, so that one maybe the better comparison.

LMFAO.

Personally I think they should've stopped Pokemon after the third season. Now their just milking it.

You could argue the same about the games though; they were going to stop after the original "Gold" and "Silver."

Never realy played Diamond/Pearl either. The initial realization was based primarily upon looks. I look at the mane of Luxray and continue to think "Yugi Muto."

It would be scary if an English-speaking Luxray sounded like Dan Green. X3

Mainly just an observation from my own viewpoint. The similarities seem blaring to me.

I like Luxary... Or will. Once my Luxio ("Shinespark") evolves, she'll be even more wicked-awesome than she is now! Then you'll see.

That one's actually one of my favorites of the fourth generation. I caught one in Pearl and I think it's actually pretty awesome. I can safely say it puts up a really good fight.

Heh. I haven't fully played through a Pokemon game since Generation II, so I know not how all the other critters work. I still prefer the Generation I bunch myself. X3

That said, with the exception of Generation III I do find some eye-catching Pokemon out there.

I hadn't even gotten through Pearl or Platinum at all yet. Actually the last game I got through was Yellow version. And with SoulSilver, I only have one second Generation Pokemon in my bunch, the rest are only from the first generation.

I had attempted to get more first generation Pokemon in Pearl, but the wild ones available were mostly from the fourth generation. So I thought "I'll just collect these guys for now to get through the game and go back later and find a team of first gen Pokemon." In the process I caught a Shinx, which at first I didn't know what to think about. After having it learn some new moves and having it evolve, I can say this one is pretty eye-catching. I think one of the coolest things about it is it's battle cry.

Me, too. But...I'm giving Generation IV a chance with Platinum Version. Can't say I'm too displeased with what I've experienced thusfar. Plus, I have a pair of pretty good teams, even if they are pretty unbalanced.

Team 1, Solo Team (Level 25):
Luxio "Shinespark"
Onix "Bronx"
Buizel "Nack"
Gyarados "Tiera"
Bibarel "A. Dendum" (named after a Rattata I had once named "Dendum")
Budew "Sunflower"

Team 2, Paired PokΓ©s (Level 20-25):
Psyduck "Starstorm" and Golbat "Jessica" ()
Haunter "Toxiboo" and Kadabra "Psylocke"
Buneary "Kaiya" and Pachirisu "Cherry"

No, no starter monster. I plan to give that to my nephew completely fresh and ready to be trained if he ever gets a Generation IV game. Plus, I wasn't interested in Chimchar that much. He's a far cry from Charizard or Typhlosion...
And yes, all my partners are female. ... That sounded weird. ...what? I can't have a PokΓ©Harem? ... No, that sounded weird... Well, nevermind.

Overall, I'm happy with my teams so far. I'm almost certain that's gonna change later on, but I've spent the last week lost in Eterna Forest with Cheryl abusing game physics -- er, power-levelling my partners, so I'm kind of attached. I would like to find a Farfetch'd or Pika/Raichu at some point, though. And of course, I'll have an Eevee later on, so there's that. I might just make a third team with all my favorites...

I suppose I'm one to stick to old standards. It's not that I don't think new ideas should be given a chance, but it seems it isn't hard to completely change the nature of the game just by applying more complex and more numerous ideas. Sonic still hasn't recovered from that.

I am still a bit unused to some of the concepts they've introduced after the original Gold & Silver, like the "abilities" that Pokemon naturally have, or being able to fight in pairs. Plus I miss the old potential of "Cut;" I could use it back then to mow the tall grass and avoid random battles when I didn't want to fight.

I still don't have an ideal team, though the ones I do have at the moment work relatively well. I have no Psychic specialist yet, so I'm still looking about. And I do not intend to build up any of the 5-6 Abras in my PC currently. I'll probably just wait until I find Mewtwo and chuck the Master Ball at him. Like old times. X3

On a related note, I finally have an Arcanine after much effort to get a Fire Stone. He's not my fire-type specialist, but his move list covers a number of bases. Plus, "Dig" is still awesome (take THAT, Escape Rope).
