Was planning to create this illustration for quite some time now! I wanted this to be Roland finally closing in on the Dark Tower, with the darkness being right behind him (thus the evil vibe of the foreground contrasting the light of the Tower in the far distance). But my boyfriend (who's a much bigger fan of the series) pointed out that the character doesn't seem like Roland, rather a different gunslinger from many years before who is the last to ever check on the Tower before it's beams slowly start dying - causing chaos in the universe. You can almost feel the sadness of the figure - saying one last goodbye to it, and probably going into hiding from the incoming darkness.

What do you think? Is it Roland or a previous gunslinger?
