Description
The sun was setting now, casting gentle shadows upon the two carnivores existing in the plains of the Pridelands. Indeed, it belonged to the two of them; a king and the future queen.

Mufasa stared at Nala for a few brief moments, trying to decifer if this was some sort of joke or if the lass was actually doing what she was doing. As the brute watched the light coloured fae circle her way around him, he watched her carefully with his ruby hues.

"You don't like younger women, Mufasa?" Nala asked. Her lids were heavy, protection from the sun, and a flirtatious look capturing Mufasa's gaze to her.

"How can you ask me such a thing, Nala?" Mufasa retorted. His deep vocals were raced, his cheeks heated from the sun. But he couldn't deny that this situation, alone with a lioness ripe in her prime and the future queen-to-be, was not something he imagined would ever happen.

She now stood beside him, her pelt brightened by the shine of the setting sun. "Most males would be pleased to have a younger female interested in them. I don't see how you can't be one of them."

Of course, Mufasa was like most males aside from him being the king of the Pridelands. But other than that title, passed down to him, he had the working mind of a testertone-fueled brujo and his body, despite what his mind said, couldn't help but allow his wandering orbs to search her body. She was fit and beautiful. She had the confidence of a queen, and maybe that's why he was so attracted to her. But he continued to harshly gaze at her.

"Might I remind you, Nala, you're the future queen of the Pridelands? And the only reason you're becoming queen is because my son will have you," he reminded her of the fact that she seemed to overlook. Never when him and Sarabi had their cub did he imagine that his son's mate would be coming after him. Besides that, Mufasa was a widow. Did she honestly expect him to be over Sarabi so quickly?

"And I will have him," she paused, "Unless you're willing to have me instead."

She moved close to his face, her breath intertwining with his. As he looked down at her, his brows furrowed even further. His instincts told him to be furious, and so he painted the face to come across as just that. But deep down, he was willing to take her for himself right there and now.

"I could have you exiled for this," he replied to her, his voice now residing in the lowest parts of his throat. Perhaps his instincts were working against him, as he caught himself sounding even more gravelly than he wanted.

"You could," she nodded, "But are you going to?" Her comment was left hanging between them. Mufasa had the right mind to, and he should have stuck with it. But her tail moved under his chin, giving off some of her scent and leaving it on face, near his nose. He was silent, which brought the lioness to an uproar before she walked away from him, leaving the king in the fields, contemplating what had just happened.

Okaysorealquick. My theory was that if Mufasa didn't die, he would have found some pride to take care of him while he was recovering from all the injuries sustained in the stampede and then he would go back to take his crown. By then, Scar would have already killed Sarabi for not bending to his whim and Simba would have already taken care of Scar to leave him to the hyenas. Mufasa's return would have been before Simba and Nala did the dirty and created Kopa/Fluffy and Kiara.

Meh, I thought it would be an interesting couple. And of course, I couldn't pair them up with Sarabi being alive; I would feel too guilty for making Mufasa cheat on her. ;3; But Simab, I just don't care about. xD
