been trying to practice more quick paint-sketching; i have a tendency to start hyper-focusing on details instead of paying attention to a painting as a whole, and i'm trying to break that habit. i had to stop myself from slipping back into doing that several times while working on this.

the point of this was to convey as much visual information as possible with the least amount of actual detail and time spent - no easy task, and i greatly envy those who have that ability.

also, i'm not as skilled at painting men, so i chose a subject that would challenge me in that aspect as well (and what an attractive subject he is!)

the ref for this is a photo i've had on my pc for years - fuck if i know where i got it from. i don't feel like uploading it right now, but if you really care, i'm sure google images can help you.
