Description I don't think I've posted this before. This is an intelligent species native to Tel Kabri. They had a thriving civilization before human discovery, with colonies spanning their star system and some temporary presence in interstellar space, similar to ours at the time. They were brought down by a combination of political tensions and an unstable economic system in which colony worlds were held hostage by their need for resources. All colony worlds are dead and their home planet has been laid to waste by kinetic bombardment. The biosphere is a shell of what it was before, and Cabras exist only as scavenger troups and a small handful of nomadic hunter-gatherer tribes, finding it difficult to farm under the dim, ashy sun.

Cool species Monkey! Ever since you hinted at a deeper foray into Tel Kabri I had been curios about what you'd come up with. Awesome job at expanding your universe. The Cabra are really cool. Will wait eagerly for more about them and the world they live in.

aw, poor chaps; I hope they make a full recovery.

one day, they will make good neighbors.

until then (and after then), you depict them very well.

That's fucking awesome! I'm guessing their mandibles are their main manipulators. And what did you mean that the Cabra had a similar interstellar presence as us at the time? Are you hinting that there was some ancient human space faring civilization or something?

At the time we were exploring exoplanets (Beagle probes, Ilion, etc.), so were they. Maybe even the same ones.

Oh, I had forgotten that the war happens around the same time as the Beagle Program. I imagine that their exploration vessels were significantly more advanced if they had several planets within their system colonized though.

Yes, they are at The Expanse levels of civilization.

I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with The Expanse.
EDIT: I looked it up. Maybe the Beagle Program administrators were right in cutting off connection with that star system.
