Yay! After four months of doing absolutely nothing about it, I've finally finished Altair. And now I'm sad because I couldn't get it to look right after I scanned it. Boo-hoo
Oh well, maybe when it's bigger, it'll look better. The unscanned version is way better!!
Anyway, this is for one of the amazing artists who inspired me to get back into drawing
So here's a hug for her.

how do you get good drawing pics? i use cameras but they don't look that good please help..

How am I good at drawing them or how am I good at getting the images on the computer? I use a scanner.
If it's about the drawing, lots and lots of practice.

Yeah. A camera will work, but you need it to be exactly parallel to the drawing and you need proper lighting, preferably no flash. If you can get to a scanner, you can use that to scan in your images and then touch them up in photoshop to get the lighting right.

Oh sorry but my english isn't very well ^^". But even if you did it, the practice is very realistic. And for learn it is necessary to copy many images before you can do an original character or whatever. I'd really like to drawing like you!

Here's a tip for you. I have taken only one drawing class. And I drew this before I even took that class. You don't need art classes to learn how to draw well, although it does help. I suggest you only practice. Practice as much as you can, that's what I did.

Yes, some techniques are hard to learn by yourself. Some are hard to learn even if they are taught to you. Don't give up, and keep practicing.

My god, I really love this picture. And I don't think I exaggerate when I'm saying that this is my favourite piece of fanart relating to Assassin's Creed.
I'd really, really love to use this picture as an Avatar in Steam (my Steamname is Altair, that's why^^), but there's two things...
1. The watermark is kinda disturbing.
2. I'm not gonna use it without your approval.
So please tell me...can I use it? And if yes, do you still have the original and could you send it to me somehow?

I'm flattered, but I'm afraid I can't let you use this, since it was drawn specifically for practice and I can get in trouble with the law if I just let it out everywhere. Part of the reason that the watermark is on there is because this piece was stolen from me and sold on the internet. I'm not saying that you will do so, it's just that I can't let this image get loose on the internet without a watermark.

No I wouldn't share it with anyone, you'd have my word on that.
I can totally understand your reasons and motives, I don't want to know what feelings you have when you find out that your picture had been stolen.

Yeah, it's kind of a big thing. There's an agreement that countries are signing. I don't know if Germany has signed it or not. But if the U.S. signs it, that means anything copywrited distribution can put people in jail and shut down websites. It's a really stupid law.
Unfortunately I can't sell it either, because the original rights go to Ubisoft.

Oh you mean SOPA or ACTA?
These stupid laws that are in progress just right now? As far as I know, they haven't been signed or approved or anything. Mainly because people all over the world are protesting against these laws, saying that it cannot be, that there is any kind of censorship or surveillance of the internet. Even Wikipedia shut down their site for one day, protesting against SOPA.
Too bad. I'd even come over to pick a copy on a CD or a stick. And I'm not joking.

Well SOPA has been "indefinitely postponed" but ACTA is very much alive. The Polish government has already signed it, despite the protests they got. And the government here is being so much sneakier about ACTA.

Yeah, here in Germany we're gonna protest against ACTA. 12.2. in every bigger city here.
ACTA is just a bad joke. Well, it should be, but in fact in isn't. Which makes me pretty sad. We can only hope, that the European Parliament says no (thanks to the pressure of people all over Europe) to ACTA. This would also completely stop it.
Yeah it's a shame that the governments are hiding those "laws" from the public. What's especially kinda retarded is the fact that ACTA and SOPA have been created by non-elected bureaucrats and representatives of the music, games and film industry. How the f**k (sorry for my wording^^) are these guys supposed and authorized to decide over us? We didn't even VOTE for them, this is completely undemocratic -which in my opinion is the biggest imfamy of ACTA, SOPA etc.- and also has some "minor" conflicts with existing laws like the law of freedom. But hey..who cares?
These rich motherf*ckers don't care. If you have the money, you have to power. Thank you corruption, goodbye good politics.

I know, it's so freakin ridiculous! I am thinking about writing a paper on it and pointing out all its major flaws. If it does pass, my friend has a V for Vendetta costume and I'm going to go around wearing it. If the film and music industry, and even such companies as Walmart think they can control our lives, they're wrong. Because, guess what, without us people, they would be nothing. They would have no money and no power. Instead of being grateful about that, they try to steal our freedom. So wrong.
