It's mainly the hair that gives off the feminine vibe. Trunks hair shape, combined with Ranch's own. Plus as Masako explained in the video, a blood relation would result in a stronger looking fusion, hence the slight increase of muscle tone with Ranten. Well that's what I assume anyways. ^^

Raunks is a female fusion, Ranten is a male. Ranch is more dominant physically in the fusion between her and Trunks while she is the more mentally dominant of the two in the fusion with Goten.

This kind of raises a question for me seeing Ranch and Goten/Trunks's fusion: Even though it's a combination of two warriors, does the person with the dominate personality truly determine the appearance of the fusion? Admittedly I kind of questioned this back when Caulifla and Kale fused into Kefla and she basically seemed totally like Caulifla with just a hint of Kale mixed in. Not sure if this was ever explained in the manga or by Toriyama himself, just honestly curious about the inner works of the Fusion Dance.
