If Gine and Gouk trained together at a hundred times Gravity on their way to Namek in the What If there is no way the Kiao Ken would give Goku more power then the SSJ transformation would give his mother. The Kiao Ken is a nice boost for a very short period a but the fact that the higher you push the number it multiplies your power the more damage you do to your body with it makes it something you should only really use to end a fight quick. Still this is a well done piece of art.

I doubt most of the saiyans would have become SSj even if they lived. Theyre too cruel and weak to reach the necessary requirements, imo, unless they change liked Vegeta did.

Gine is a saiyan, but not all saiyans are bad. She doesnt fight, she worked in a food plant. That makes her about as innocent as you can get out Planet Vegeta.

No, its just easier for them according to all the info Toriyama has given us about the SSj form. A bad/evil saiyan would have to train to a much higher battle power in order to unlock the form than someone like Goku. Its probably why Vegeta getting the form was so delayed. Evil saiyans can definitely get the form, but the U7 saiyans were all weak as shit.

i grew up with the american dub, and primarily still follow it, but i follow all information about the series to learn what "mistakes" or changes the dub makes etc so I know the "real" story when funimation doesnt give it to me lol

The thing is that despite the multiplied power, Gine's base power was so weak (compared to Frieza) that even after the transformation, she's not able to do much.

Seriusly, why Goku didn't turned to a super saiyan when Tambourine killed Kurilin if SSJ doesn't need a centrail (sp) power level?

Toriyama explained this recently in a way most people dont like. Saiyans transformations are triggered by cells in their body he called S-Cells. Being gentle natured (like goku is, and Gine for this what if) increases the number, but so does high battle power, and strong emotion (like rage). If you get enough then you can go SSj. So it doesnt technically need a certain power, if you had enough S Cells you could transform when your Power Level was 10 and your power would jump to 500...still weaker than Raditz lol So yeah Gine just has enough even though her power was lower than Goku's when he transformed.
Also, on Krillin in DB, Goku just didnt have enough S Cells back then, because he was too weak.

Not only that, but the ideas of Super Saiyans and Goku being one weren't in Toriyama's mind at the time. Thankfully MasakoX did a what if regarding Goku becoming a SSJ at that point in the story. Lets just say that there's a major character omission.
