Just need to stick some engines on to this and a few small details and this model is done.

The EA explorers were one of the more interesting concepts in Babylon 5 - A whole type of starship designed specifically intended to prevent a first contact easily turning into a battle again.

I agree. I love the class since it is a get down to work kind of ship design.

I could see a whole show based around an Explorer class traveling the rim.

The scaffolding looks fantastic! And I do love the detailing on the lower parts of the front-most section.

I think Earth Alliance Vessels work really well in that regard, thanks to their practical style. You can look at every detail and come up with ideas about what they're for. With alien vessels, it's often much more difficult to make heads or tails of various elements.

Organic ships are definitely the biggest challenge.

Makes me want to break out zbrush again and do some 3d sculpting.
