Those who have looked at my old account softbois and my pretty much also dead non-kink account chaosscribbler are likely familiar with this boy. He’s my first character! I’ve had him for a very long time- and today I present the latest version of my prized boyo, with his new addition- a pair of wings!

Blemishes: Cheeks are peppered with freckles, and he has a scar on his upper right thigh, from an accident when he was younger.

Clothing Style: Tends to wear rather fancy clothes, as evident in his ref. Wears loose robes when it comes to going casual.

Likes:
Reading: Having a childhood without much else to do. Val absolutely loves a good book. Though he has a preference for informational books such as encyclopedias or bestiaries. Any literature could have him curled up and cozy for hours reading it over and over.
Sweets: If there’s one way of instantly getting Val’s attention. Offering a sweet treat is the way to do it. He likes candy to such an extent that he keeps a small stash hidden away in his room at all times.
Animals: Tell him that there’s a bird, or mouse, or spider around and Val will rush right over to take a look. He loves all animals, but has a soft spot in particular for small songbirds. Intentionally hurting an animal is one of the few ways to get him to dislike you.

Dislikes:
Excessive Exercise: a nice hike, swimming a little, or a casual walk around? All things Val will happily do, but lifting weights or training for hours? He just doesn’t get why anyone would tire themselves out with that, and generally tries to stay away from what he sees as too much work.
Fighting: A pacifist at heart. Val would rather go through every other possible method of resolving an issue before resorting to drawing weapons- physical, magical or otherwise.
The Weather: Nearly any weather extreme is bound to get him to complain. Is it sunny? Then it’s too hot. Rainy or snowy? Then it’s too cold. About the only weather that doesn’t annoy him at all would be cloudy days. As far as his dislikes go, this is more of a mild one; he’s more willing to put up with it.

Personality Strengths:
Polite: Val strives to be polite and proper whenever he can. If he can avoid saying something rude he generally will, and makes an effort to be nice to all but his worst enemies.
Knowledgeable: Having read many books in his childhood. Val knows quite a lot about a number of miscellaneous subjects. If you throw a random question his way; then there’s a fair chance he’ll answer correctly.
Trusting: It is very hard to get on Val’s bad side. He understands that everyone does things for a reason, and that there are multiple sides to a given story. Someone would have to do something truly horrible to be considered an enemy to him.

Personality Weaknesses:
A Little Shy: As friendly as he is, Val finds it hard to initially reach out and talk to new people. Once he gets used to someone this goes away, but large crowds always make him somewhat nervous.
Naive: Despite his knowledge. Living in a palace in the desert for much of his life means Val simply doesn’t truly know much about the world or how a lot of things work. Thus if something sounds even remotely believable, he’d pretty easily fall for it.
Not very motivated: if it isn’t within his interests, and it’s a lot of work- especially if the work in question is physical. Then Val has a very hard time pushing himself to go and do it. Meaning for such tasks he is reluctant at best and procrastinating at worst.

Fears:
Death: The idea of simply being gone. Of leaving everything and everyone you know as a result. Is something that terrifies Val, and he wouldn’t wish death on anyone. It’s a major reason that he doesn’t like fighting.
Public Speaking: Don’t even try to get Val speaking before a large crowd. The end result will most likely be a shaking wreck in a fetal position. The mere suggestion that he might be doing it could very well send him running.

Fatal Flaw: Extreme Curiosity, A combination of his desire to see the world and his naivety. Val is simply insatiably curious. Even if exploring into something is dangerous. His urge to learn about it will override his worries and he’ll take a look anyways. He simply lives by the phrase “Curiosity killed the cat- but satisfaction brought it back”. Whatever the answer is. It is worth the risks.

Personality: Friendly and kind hearted. Val is initially a little shy to new faces, but quickly warms up to people he considers friends and doesn’t let go of them. However, due to a sheltered upbringing. there is a less pleasant side to him. He can act rather spoiled when in a bad mood, and at times can be very clueless about rather simple things.
He is generally a pacifist, and avoids conflict of all forms. If there’s an argument he tends to either turn silent or leave. Though somewhat lazy Val is very passionate when it comes to his interests. He devotes nearly all- if not all his time to them. Which in turn means he spends quite a bit of time in his room. Which quite contributes to his growing waistline.

Skills/Talents:
Musical Instruments: Mainly due to the culture of his people highly favoring it. Val can play a flute or a harp at a decent skill level.
Animal/Plant ID: Among the more useful of his book-knowledge. Val can generally identify even rather obscure flora or fauna. Especially those within his homeland desert.
Cooking: If only so he can make snacks for himself. Val is a decent baker, and can make a good plate of cookies or a small cake with little issue.
Scavenging: Ever curious, Val is always on the hunt for new and interesting things lying on the ground or wherever else. That circlet on his head? Not due to him being royalty- he found it on the ground one day and wore it ever since!

Biography/Backstory: Some are blessed with positions of power and influence. Val is one such person- born to royal blood of a nation of desert-dwelling birdfolk. As expected of a prince of these people- Val’s childhood was truly a pampered one, but with one major setback. For the boy’s safety. While he was young he was never let outside the palace walls. Spacious as the palace was. This fostered two things in Val. Firstly, he had a growing desire to see the world outside of his homelands. Secondly, he spent much of his time as a child cooped up in his room and reading- a habit that sticks to this day.
A whole lifetime of being given the royal treatment certainly shows on Val’s waistline. Even though he isn’t particularly fat. He’s noted to be among the heftiest birdfolk around- and among the few who have trouble flying due to their weight. At the age of 19, he is now being educated on how to be a good ruler, but really all he desires is to travel the world.

Goals: To see the world outside the Desert. To see the things he had read about in the flesh.

Wishes: for the world to be a more peaceful place.
