Recently I got a couple of slices of wood. It turned out (on later pyrographies) that this wood is not very well suited for pyrographie since it is burning at rather different speeds, thereby producint dark spots where I didn't intend any of those. However, this was not a problem with the first motive I picked for one of these slices.It struck me that said slices of wood had a bit of an appearance of a full moon and so I burned the pattern of dark craters onto it which signify the presence of the Mare in the Moon / Nightmare Moon in the first episode of my little pony.

In this case it was really the fullmoon shape of the slice of wood that brought about the idea that it would be rather easy to burn the craters of the moon in the first ever MLP episode into it.

The design is very closely based on the moon in the very first MLP episode in which the presence of the banned Luna is indicated by the horsehead shaped arrangement of the craters.
