you've asked the right? wrong? question? they've got a LOT of (sad) backstory, i'll try to keep it relatively abridged tho

pre-war they were an archivist in iacon. they signed onto the autobots more or less out of peer pressure (with the justification that after OP became a prime, it spurred a lot of archivists over to the autobot side, meaning all their friends/acquaintances would be gone). the issue was, however, that they're small and weak (a minibot with a sum total of zero combat training) and the autobots didn't necessarily care enough to actually teach them how to fight aside from how to hold and maintain a gun.

so when they were dropped on the planet they were stationed at, they proceeded to immediately lose their gun and get captured by a particularly nasty group of decepticons (along with others). being the small and weak one, they were the one people tended to take stuff out on, which ended up with them having been tortured and left alone in a dark cell for months on end. 

they get picked up by another group of autobots with a few who actually, like, take care of them. through some nasty shit, their group is left with zero medics and they get picked to do the job because they've got the smallest hands (which, it should be noted, are skeletal now due to the aforementioned torture). naturally, they're bad at it at first and a lotta people end up dying.

eventually it becomes clear both sides have completely abandoned the bots on this one planet and sticks's group gradually picks up members from the other side, though, at this point everyone except the MTOs have jumped ship from their factions. sticks, however, still desperate for attention and validation, ends up getting in a relationship that resulted in them being manipulated and emotionally abused by another bot, which generated enough dependance for them to essentially rip their spark in half trying to save the other bot's life. 

idk exactly how i'm going to end their story but in RP and in theory they and their group get rescued and brought back to civilization. sticks gets all fixed up and gets taken in by a real medic to actually learn how to do things properly.

Oh wow! And it’s okay- I’m all about sad backstories. It’s great to see characters go through a lot only to someday overcome it and become stronger. You definitely put a lot of thought and detail into his backstory and he seems really well developed!
