Description So the pics at the start are pretty much a shot of the progress I made every day I worked on it. I think I pretty much kept that by until the end. there might be one or two shots in the middle where I just worked a bit few on a day and made a pic the next, when more happened.

Also, for those who wondered about my dipping ink utensils, I took a shot with them for you So you see what kind of pens I used and such.

I thought some of you might like to see what and how I did this gigantic work.

It is after all one of my most time intense and complex, but also creative works!

Tell me what you think?

It's nice seeing it in steps. I'm still kinda surprised you colour along the way, rather than doing all the lines first then all the colours after.
I do like the unorthodox colour choices though (unorthodox as in it's not how a real wolf would be coloured. At least not that I'm aware of...). It's drawn quite nicely and I especially like how the expression came out on the front-facing view. The fur texture is good too.

Thanks for mentioning/referring back to showing different angles in the same drawing. There's some interesting potential there. Is there a specific reason you decided to apply the idea for this picture?

How'd you do the text? Is it completely by yourself, or was there like a guide or something? Maybe you answered it already in your commentary and I didn't understand it.
It looks really good.

Oh i had it sketched out with pencil. And i usually sketch out the main lines. But i just filled all the colours in while having the reference on the computer. The point was, it was pencil and the goal was to hide the lines, therefore they were very faint.

As to why i applied that idea here was because it was a portrait of a friend, he is named wolf and wanted a wolf...

Wow, that's beautiful! So many colours, but such a harmonious end product! And I adore seeing how a piece as intricate as this comes together, too, from sketch to finished piece.

Oh thank you. Yes, it was interesting to see how it came together, especially since I didn't know what it would turn into myself. it was discovering all the way Yeah, I wanted to have many colours, but a harmonic look. I've seen that principle with another fellow deviantart and it fascinated me, so I went to discover it myself He draws anime, so it was completely different, but awesome nonetheless

Ooh, it's always interesting to adapt a process from a very different art style. And it's amazing how very different colours can come together, and look amazing rather than clashing, in the hands of a good artist.

I'm just starting to appreciate the calligraphy, too. It'sΒ an understated artform, but makes a lot of difference, nonetheless.

so true, deviantart really is pushing and broadening my horizon there. It's crazy what I have achieved in the last year and a half. and yes, the not clashing colours, it was interesting and not too easy to figure out a way, but the gentleness of colours helps a lot

Calligraphy is really underestimated and understated, so true. actually with this pic, I even went colouring over the ink with colour pencils to make the colours irridescent in a gentle way, that was so awesome, and so subtle

Thank you

Ah yes, DevArt really does help to push people's artwork...and to help them meet like-minded artists. And now you say, I can see how the softness of the colours help them work with one another, rather than clash and battle for attention.
